Tell me it will be worth it

Hi all,
quite new to the forum only joined this year have now read most of the faults and fix'es as i seem to have encountered most of them . Bought a partially restored,stripped out and boxed up 78, 1300 back in august.Originally thought a couple of months would see it ready for the road, boy was i wrong i now seem to be undoing all the work done by the previous owner . He was the second person to try and restore the car and had finally thrown in the towel after 4 years because the headlight lift motors had given him too many sleepless nights . tried my patience too but got there in the end,will tell u that story some day,not 1 electrical item worked on the car now all do,didnt run now it does,no interior now it does no paint now in rosso sporting red no brakes and still does'nt, seems to have built calipers wrong and cant get a handbrake, have them on the bench at the minute and wont let it beat me. ALL I WANT IS FOR SOMEONE TO TELL ME IT WILL BE WORTH IT. [/img]

When the sun's out, roof off, & you find a lovely twisty country road, you'll KNOW it was worth it :!:

It will be worth it, youll have a very rare car, not many good 1300 around these days. The looks of admiration you will get will definetely make you smile. Post some photos and put her forward for car of the month we would love to see it.

Hay colm, It will be worth it.

Just stick with it about the rear calipers ive put new seals on mine, and one piece of advice is,

when you have them wound back fully pump the brake pedal before adjusting the hand brake also cheakouy my master cylender trouble, in faults and fixes.

Thank you all for your comments,have cheered me up no end,would love to make the Galway trip but will take it one fault at a time for the minute.Drove an exxy 20 years ago on a test drive, swore then one day i would own one,it was the only one iv'e ever seen in reallity until this one.have been using the clubs pics to see what it should look like, and whats missing like covers clips panels and switches etc, almost there although under the eye of an experianced club member i'm sure it wont be quite right . I'll just have to do what the rest of you's do and keep improving it .If i can figure out how to post pics i'll do a past and present.
