Let me tell you about my day....Fri 13th

Mate of mine at work has trouble with cats and magpies ripping open the bin liners on rubbish day... I say to him, my two boys both have BB guns do you want to borrow one, either the automatic rifle or the pistol to 'ping' off the offenders arse.. problem solved? So, I lend the rifle, he has it for a couple of days.
This morning I get to work, he gives me gun back and I sling it on the back seat at 10 to 6 in the staff car park ..think no more about it.
11 am Honda call me to say my ordered parts were in for the CRX, so after work I hot tail it to Startin Honda Worcs', parks up and goes to collect parts.
Get home, takes work bag, parts and bb gun into house. Ten minutes later, wife comes home and says wonder what all the coppers are doing up the road, I say 'dunno' but I'm going round the back to get X1/9 to take a pressie round to a friends (40th b/day).. here is where it got 'interesting' because as I walked I heard some shouts so I look up to see three coppers walking down our road (two armed and pointing their guns at me and the other had a dog) I was instructed to 'stand still or I will shoot' then I had to open my fleece and turn around, then they told me to kneel on the kerb while they searched me, when I got up there was bloody coppers everywhere it was like a sting... plain cars, squad cars dog handlers the lot. I said was it regarding the bb gun and they said they had been given a tip off while I was parked at Startin, of a 'firearm' in the car and had tailed me from Worcs and that the house back and front had been 'covered'.
To say I was shocked is a slight understatement especially when one said to me 'Darren, dont move or make any sudden movements I have a tazer aimed at you with 20,000 volts ok' the missus was hysterical and was being comforted by neighbours after being told to get back inside.
When they came into the house, one of them searched upstairs while the other checked out the bb gun and said ' to be fair, its a good replica and if you had this on you and raised in our direction, I would have shot you'
Any way, when they left I looked outside there must have been about twenty cops and half a dozen cars of varying livery milling around as the calls went out that the situation had been resolved and was all clear!
So think, what you leave on your back seat ..(if you have a back seat.. ... it may come back to haunt you!

Now that is a good story - I hope you're able to laugh about it now. You must've been a bit taken aback by all of that !!

I just got off the phone to Startin, and apparently their service manager had spotted it, thought originally that it was a toy, but phoned the police in case it was real and could have been stolen/used in a raid etc.
They said the police were there two minutes after I left and used my registration to find my address.

Startin were very apologetic, but stand by their decision, which is fair enough considering... and said to pop in next week and have a chat, which I will over two or three cups of their coffee...

None of this would of happened if you were driving the exxie (No back seats) :lol: :lol: :lol:
