The car is going!.........

Well,

An absolute age since I logged on here last.
I just received the lastest club magazine through the letterbox, which reminded me that I should come on in (and gave me a password that was to hand to do so)
I have some sad news. My X1-9 is going next saturday, and all the parts (a garage full) to keep it going are too.
It was getting into a sorry state. I'd promised myself to sort it out. Time, effort, and my amazing ability to spend ages on something and make it look worse, just couldn't give.
F305YSF is heading to south Wales. The buyer owns a paintshop (handy) and intends to get it back on the road. His dad also has an x1-9 thats been off the road for a while, so the truck load of parts (many new) will hopefully be useful for them both.
I would like to remain a member of the club, and look forward to the mags. unfortunately, carrying too much photo kit around the country, early morning, late nights, not asking myself "do I feel lucky today" as i turn the ignition key, are major requirements for me.
I would hope one day I'll get another......neigh, one day I WILL get another, but it will be one I can devote enough attention to.

So, if you ever see F305 YSF about, remember that 'whimp on stilts' was once upon a time ragging the arse of it!....and give it a toot from me

That python-eats-pig sequence as you squeezed your frame into your X1/9 and your Harry Houdini impression as you clambered out of it will stay with ME forever...

........wont be the same without you Joe...............I still think of your "traffic stopping marshalling" in the 2nd Ireland trip - no doubt the scary exhaust note helped! Good luck mate, hope you return one day.
