I put the 1300 away for the winter today and equipped with a large can of wd40, completely blasted all x1/9 rust hot spot areas. Doing this keeps the moisture at bay over the winter months and gives the car good protection till spring time. So we are talking about blasting areas like the windscreen surround, roll over bar, wheel arches, sill edges, turrets, inner headlamp access panels, nose cone edges, all panel edges (boot, engine cover, bonnet, door bottoms and edges) etc and over any existing scabs you may have. Its well worth the effort to keep the damp out, costs under a fiver and its quite good fun - I can’t recommend it enough! I learnt this from Nick at P1X!

How easy is it to wash it all off when you bring it back out. This sounds very interesting think I will also invest in some WD 40.

What you want is Scottoiler FS365- does the same job,but water soluble,so it washes off later. used by bikers to protect all the chrome and alloy over the winter. Even better is ACF 50. made for the aerospace industry.I use it on my bike, and even in really filthy, salty weather all the grime and stuff just washes off and never had any corrosion issues yet.
