Right, I have a little problem on my hands here… I am due to collect my DREAM X1/9 this weekend! But I have too many Exxies lying around and too much junk and need to make a bit of space. I thought I would offer this stuff up for grabs to members first before I start to advertise these cars/parts more aggressively elsewhere.

The cars I have for sale are:

1. 1985 two tone blue VS with 34,000 genuine miles on the clock and a big wedge of history, 2 previous owners and in superb condition – never, ever been welded and will not need any as it has been dry stored throughout its life. More or less standard but lots of nice subtle mods such as stainless header tank, braided callipers, Tarox brakes/pads, 4 branch exhaust. Mint tan leather interior Needs a respray to make concours though, and a good tune up as the last MOT ran out in Oct 2003! Would take 1.5K for this car. No MOT or tax but runs, drives and stops fine. Car of the Month Jan 2003.

2. 1989 SE with a very nice twin-carb engine built by the old Eurosport on a no-expense spared basis – the build cost £4,000 (at 1998 prices!) and I have all paperwork to support, along with the obligatory fat history file. 38K miles on this car. Negotiations start at £3,500 for this car if anyone is interested – I know this is a high price but believe me, the engine is an absolute corker – it has been rolling roaded at a honest 130BHP, idles smoothly at 1,000 RPM (which is amazing for an Exxy on twin Webbers!) and pulls all the way to 8,000RPM and hardly drinks any oil and returns almost as good economy as a standard 1500 (as long as you don’t go too crazy with the revs) Oh need I mention the sound too….. I got kicked off the Goodwood track as it was blaring out at 107DB!! Bodywork is in very good condition not having been welded ever as well, but some bubbles have appeared on the rear arches – I’ve sanded them down and treated them. Mint black leather interior. Lots of other goodies such as Jamex suspension, Tarox brakes and CSC exhaust. Not MOT'd or taxed either but I'm confident it would fly straight through and could arrange for serious buyers.

I very much don’t want to sell either my SE or my VS, but would take a sensible offer for one of them – I definitely will keep one of them but whichever one sells first, then so be it!

I also have a mint, low mileage Uno Turbo engine for sale that has not been fiddled with – still running stock air filter and dumpvalve etc. with factory boost preset at 0.6 bar so there will be a LOT of life left in it! I would also be prepared to sell my SE for a much cheaper price, around the 1K mark if whoever bought it were to return the engine to me – the SE is a fantastic car mega engine aside, and would be perfect for someone to re-shell a tired old 1500 with a sweet engine/gearbox…..

Parts for sale:

1.Uno Turbo engine as described above £350
2.Perfect 1300 engine lid £40
3. Pair of foglamps complete with covers which are a very similar aesthetic match for the original Carello’s – in perfect working order £40.
4. Pair of twin Weber 40 DCNF that have been refurbed by Weber themselves with tags and matched on a proper X1/9 manifold - £400

Cantrary to your request for no replies to this thread Jim.....
What's the dream X1-9 you type about??!!......You can't go dangling the carrot like that and expect people like us not to dribble into our tea second guessing what we might see upsetting the Irish policeman next year in Ireland..now can you!
