Thats quite some contraption youve found there!
No where in the text does it mention that the twin cam is in the back  and mounted low, so must be be really good for handling...

There is a phrase that springs to mind here.....

"one can't polish a turd"

wonder if the ford badge will carge into a Lancia one shortly?

There are easier ways to get great handling

Have owned a few cars over the years and the worst were all fords. Mazda, renault laguna (mk 1 only, mk 2 was bag of nails, but pretty) and Volvo being the higher points. both (volvo and mazda ) now owned by ford, note the revolutionary focus..... was a re bodied mazda 323f, a quantum leap from the escort but a badge change from a mazda.

Anyway had a loook at the new mazdas and can only conclude that ford has worked its magic and we can now look forward to the demise of the mazda range.

Like a lancia manager said at a car show once, it is not that our quality is poor it is that the japanese qualitiy is excessive!
