x1/9 vs mk1 mr2.... was created by biggbn
discuss.....iv owned a couple of mk1 mr2s, and too me they are the spiritual successor to the x1/9...dare i say what the x1/9 might have become had fiat shoehorned the 1600cc twink into the x1/9....????
..i have always loved the mk1 mr2, practical, superb handling, economical and plenty quick enough....what do you x1/9 lovers feel.....just another example of japanese mimicry or a rightful successor to the x1/9s crown of affordeable mid engined sportscar.....
and before ya all ask well WHY do you wanna x1/9 if you like mk1 mr2 sooo much..because the mr2, whilst to me is is almost unarguably a BETTER car than the fiat lacks one vital ingredient....soul!!!.....i imagine an x1/9 would have what evey fiat iv ever owned has, and what most, though not all japanese cars iv owned have lacked....character, charisma...soul.....

i know exactly what you mean....i bought a mazda mx5 and ADORED it.....i just bought it to run while my coupe was getting work done on it and was therefore off the road...and absence didnt make the heart grow fonder, it made me think of keeping the little japanese elan facsimile.....every mile i put under its wheels was a hoot, every time i put the roof down..(which was every day...) i had a ball.....
..but when i got my coupe back i realised that i had only been pretending with the mazda..sure it is a totally different type of car from a totally different sector, but the coop grabs ya by the bollo**s with its character and charisma...i realised i had been having fun in the mazda, but it was only a brief fling...tehe fiat made ya LOVE it.....

A man that feels lucky !
well if you have a problem with your X1/9 you know where we are the "club" has been going for many years and those that have left
still ring up to see how "we" are doing and regret leaving the club/missing the X1/9
