The time has come to insure my car, can anyone recommend a company who will do a policy for my modded car?

Are the adverts in the mag the best options?

Whats the average policy price people are paying?

Have you ever tried Confused .com? I hear so much about it, I wonder if they are any good. Personally I use Saga but that's my age you see... they don't bother with folk under 50.

We use Classicline. At the time they were the only ones who would put mine on limited mileage because we had a Eurosport bolt-on body kit.

Right update for anyone interested
Club Adverts
Houghton quote £160.70 with £200excess
Herritage quote £135.38 with £50 excess
Road Sure all numbers didnt work gone i think

Adrian Flux £350 with £100 excess (to be fair he said at the present he was not competative with classic uk modded cars but good with yank cars)
Classic line where £168.50 with £150 excess

have included all the mods carb, camshaft, head, arches, brakes, fuel and wheels, and have gone for 3000 miles (with the option to increase) with the car garaged, agreed value of £3k and fully comp

Took the one with Herritage and including breakdown it came to £160

Next stage MOT?????

Funnily enough there is although it looked cr*p and, as I wasn't insured with them I dumped it. Got a nodding "Sean Sheep" now - much more fun! Now all I see it in the rear-view mirror is this crazy sheep nodding and saying "baa, you're going too fast again!" : that and the cops approaching! 8)
