weekend's work

Finally,at long last I got a WHOLE weekend on my OWN car!!!

Decided on a respray,as there were lots of chips and scratches,and a couple of dents. Decided against the two tone again,so did the whole car in the top colour,light silver blue,with the roof and engine cover satin black,then laquuered,just finished fitting up at half 9 tonight,from half 12 yesterday..









I've got more before pics,but my mate,whose garage I borrowed has them in his camera.

Looks great. What's the required prep work to paint a roof.

I can't believe you "just painted your car" over a weekend !! Most people put up shelves or change the oil on the car.

Tiff, you're a legend. Can't wait to see more pics.

Graeme,I just paint roofs as normal,primer then topcoat,the roof on mine is satin black aerosol,followed by supershine 2k laquuer. The plastic isn't really flexible enough to warrant plastic primer.if you rub them down with 320 grit,you can lose the texture,and get a smooth finish,late cars had a gloss roof too-they just need a scotchbrite,then paint. I have a black one and a late roof in body colour,but I kinda like black!
