direct debit was created by alex1/9
would it be worth the club accepting membership fees by direct debit. I forgot to pay mine and have just sent off a cheque but if i had a direct debit, it would have just gone.

My main point is that i bet loads of people would forget to cancel if they left the club. I know i probably would!!

Has been looked into before but I guess it would not hurt to be looked into again think that we would of had to put up the cost of membership to cover the bank charges involved in this type of transaction

I am looking into this, but the costs involved are probably going to rule it out.

How about Paypal? I use it all the time, and have never had any problems-but there is a charge for it. For the ease of use I'd be prepared to pay the fees, otherwise how about billpay or similar?

PayPal is also being investigated. This is probably a better option for the volumes we generate. As with paying by credit card the charge will probably be added to the fees for those choosing this method of payment.

Another vote for a Paypal option here - for all its sins, its so convenient.. I can't find my cheque book as I hardly use cheques at all these days!

No, but it's a bit of a pain for me to check the statements and let membership know who's paid. Not a problem if only a few do it, but it is if there's a lot and if people don't quote a reference number it could get complicated.

No need to apologise - we need ideas like these to keep the club on the absolute cutting edge of technological advances *ahem*.
