I know this does not affect X1/9's in any way, but since most of us have several cars, it might well affect one of your others.

The link below will enable you to sign a petition at No.10 Downing Street, against the chancellor's proposed tax increases being applied to vehicles registered after March 1st 2001, and not just new cars . Another unfair tax, which again will hit the less well off.

If you look at the new tax bands, you will see for example, that a normal family 2 litre car will cost over £420 pounds to tax next year, as opposed to £210 this year.

First, they did away with rolling tax exemption on classics, now they plan to double your road tax. It's not an unresonable way of encouraging you to buy a more environmentaly friendly new car, IMHO, but it is bang out of order to apply it retrospectivley.

Please take the time to sign and let this government of stealth taxes know how the motoring puplic feel.

Rant over.
