A nice feature on the Lido but, like a lot of people that buy an Exxy on a whim, the black 1500 in the "staff cars" section has caused it's owner a nightmare and will be binned at the first opportunity.

It's a shame really, what did he expect from a 20 year old car on ebay with no history and a misfire mentioned in the listing.

Its fine by me, keeps the prices down!

I was talking to someone about a car shelter thing and they asked what car I owned, I told them and they said "Oh, there will be enough room for your donor car too then!"

Cheeky,

Iain

Yes it is a shame about the staff car sagas X1/9. and the myth that that they are hard to work on .... try owning a French seventies / eighties car !

Just seen my car in Practical Classics, unfortunatly not faired as well in recent years. When I bought here in 2006 I thought about 150 hours would see her mint again. The reality she has had 400 hours work and still not finished as yet.

Hopefully ready for the summer

Some cracking work there Les. Well done, that will be a great car with some rot free years ahead of it when you're all done.

Hi Richard

We are building in antirust features like bonded door skins and weldable zinc paint on the panel flanges. We have even improved the panel gaps better than a factory shell. All in all the old girl has a great history and hopefully a sound future ahead.

Wow, thats a serious restoration job youre doing! Good on you anyway for doing it (or are you getting a garage to do it?) and keeping one more rare 1300 alive and not just letting it rot away as seems to have been the case over the past couple of years I have seen LOADS of 1300 basket cases on Ebay etc for sale but very very few mint examples.

The project is being ubdertaken by a specialist restoration garage near to where I live in Sabden lancashire (the home of the pendle witches). Im afraid my day job just doesnt leave me with the time required to undertake such a project. Incidently the garage and a small photo of Yap is featured in the March 08 edition of lancashire life magazine.
thanks

Fine by me, the garage is very open to showing their work off. Currently alongside Yap they are working on a vw Camper, TVR, Lotus Cortina and Rolls Royce to name a few. If your serious about coming over send me a private message and we can take it from there. When I get chance I will be doing a full write up for the club mag.
