De Meo is named Alfa Romeo CEO

Luca De Meo has been named as new CEO of Alfa Romeo (effective Dec 12 2007), replacing Antonio Baravalle. De Meo is to retain his post as Fiat group chief marketing officer and CEO of Fiat's Abarth performance car brand. He holds marketing responsibility for Fiat Group Automobiles' six brands (Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional LCVs, Lancia and Maserati), in addition to truck maker Iveco and agricultural equipment manufacturer Case New Holland.
