a quick thank you to francis was created by tinvek
thanks for the fuel tank m8, bit of a learning experience for both of us getting them out but suprisingly easy
apart from a bit of muck going into fuel filter, the tank cleaned out ok and the sender unit was working so saved swapping it (seems more reliable than the old one actually)

How did you get the tank out - was it straightforward ?
I only ask because I remember taking one out in the past and having to lift the rear end of the car up a couple of feet - just wondering whether that was totally necessary or whether I missed the obvious 'knack' ... ?

yeah lifted the rear, used an engine hoist on francis' scrapper roped to rear bumper mounts, used a decent workshop trolly jack on mine.

2 Breeze blocks on each wheel (takes a bit of time) but is safe and after you've done the job you might as well give it an underseal

I found that getting mine out was a lot easier than getting the b******* back in! - (but that may have been due to the layer of soundproofing felt I inserted between tank and passenger compartment!) :lol:
