Concourse X1/9 Beware If you bid on this item on E-Bay was created by WEBREB
This is what I went for
This is an auction for a very rare opportunity of a genuine show winning Fiat X1-9. The trophies, plaques and rosettes etc of the various shows it has entered and show how this is a genuinely exceptional example!
This is what I expected
As you would expect the exterior of the car is in exceptional condition, the paintwork is superb with no marks or blemishes and has been genuinely lovingly maintained and dry stored.
This is what I got
Wheel arches Rusted
Bottoms of doors and sills rusted
Passenger door rusted through in one area
Rear Suspension mount starting to rust through from outside
Head lights had water in then for some time chrome plating rusted and tarnished
Carpets soaking wet drivers side was sprouting green stuff
This is what I expected
The car is fitted with its original 14” Alloy Wheels along with its factory X1-9 Stripes and decals.
This is what I got
Factory fitted stripes??????
Well the workers must have had a bucket full of CHIANTI before the put them on and a very blunt Stanley knife
This is what I expected
The interior of the car matches the exterior and is in truly exceptional condition. The interior is Beige Leather with matching doors cards,
This is what I got
Beige Leather or should I say LEATHERETTE was rather dirty with a few tears and split seem door cards also damaged
This is what I expected
all the interior fixtures and fittings are in immaculate condition and everything works just as it should and has not been modified from its original factory items in anyway.
This is what I got
One Duff headlamp motor &passenger window which didn’t work
This is what I expected
The engine is the standard 1500 cc Fiat Unit that is totally original and as you would be expecting in superb running order. The car pulls well through all the gears and the brakes are effective and efficient, with no noises or knocks
This is
Apart from the knock coming from the Gear box when you took your foot off the clutch
This is what I expected
The car has been meticulously serviced and looked after and all the service history and receipts are available to show the attention the car has received.
The Third word of above sentence should have read as “HAD”
The OIL was as thick and black as North Sea Crude
MOT’D to May 2008
No I’m Sorry that says April 2007
I Know says seller let’s go and get it MOT’D
OOP’S It didn’t Pass
Handbrake caliper F*&+*d and exhaust Knackered
OOP’s says seller I haven’t any money on me to pay Mr MOT Man
Webreb now looking for something very heavy and extremely sharp
(and probably a prison sentence)
Now if I had ambled down to Belfast to see this it might not have been so bad but by this time I had traveled to city airport ,then to Birmingham and then to Wolverhampton had taken out Insurance to drive the car home. Now it was 2 pm on a Friday had to get flight home Expensive!!!!!
Other events of the day
Whilst on the phone at the station I was writing down the details of my flight when a guy approached me and asked me if I was a SPOTA (you Need the Birmingham accent on this)
Sorry say’s I several times as he repeated himself “Are you a train spota cause I’ve got the number of the Penzance freight train you missed when you were on the phone
AAAAAAARGGGGGGGGG
Half way to Airport Train in front breaks down so twiddle thumbs for half an hour then get told we were returning to Wolverhampton were we took the scenic route around the rest of the west midlands and several changes in places I’d never heard of!!!!!
I did however meet a lovely lady who worked for BMI baby but I think for a £180.00 a could have forgone this meeting
What a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just beware if you were one of the other bidders you will probably be approached to buy or it will be back on E-Bay next week :x

For those of you who are interested here's
Item number: 170113567468
The car was originally up for auction about 4 weeks ago and disappeared of the site a day before the auction ended.
It appeared back about a week later and i e-mailed the guy to ask what had happened and was it going to run its full course this time.
He said that there had been some problem with the auction and could get no more info out of him.

When you read the info you can see why I was so P*ssed off.
The car wasn't that bad for an exy of that age apart from the rust just poking through on the rear suspension mount It just didn't match up to the write up which was the only reason I went for it.
and as I said to the guy it might have been concourse but it that was probably 5 years before.
