I have been in touch with a new radiator specialist who has recently started in business. They are ex-Serck employees,so know their stuff...anyway I have given him a radiator and asked hem to give us a cost per unit to recore and recondition them. They promised to give a keen price as they are a new business. I'll get back to you all when they work it out.

Blimey Tiff, you're costing me a fortune
Could be interested - do you know what they use for re-cores ? Is it brass, or copper or ... well, something else ? What's best - anyone know ?

Chris,
I had my Radiator recored at a local specialist, who only use brass as it is a better conductor and doesn't rot like the original steel ones. He also suggested doublecore for more efficiency as he was well aware of the summer overheats that Exxies can suffer when static. I can't get my car even close to the red on the temp now.

They company are giving me a price for a standard re-core,and I've asked them also to price an uprated one, with whatever upgrades they can do. Should know by the end of the week.

Ok, a bit dissapointing..They quoted me £95+Vat (£112) to do the recores.a bit dearer than I thought. They also said they couldn't uprate it in any way unless they could increase the size....the cores are copper. Never had a rad re-conned. Anyones have prices to compare?

My rad was re-cored in Brass/copper (more efficient) and upgraded to be double core (with no increase in rad size). I recall they quoted £105 +vat for standard re-core and £115 +vat for a double core upgrade.
