Anybody have a spare or know where I can get a window mechanism cable?

Wondered why the electric window wouldn't work on the drivers side, after stripping the door I found the cable all chewed up and wrapped arround itself!

I wouldn't bother trying to refit that type, better to convert to the later type. I have not done it but others have been successful.

I've done it, it's not that hard, you have to drill a couple of extra holes i think. I hade one of the doors with the 'new' mechanism in to use as a pattern, which made it easy. They're the ones in the pics where you see the black line .. definately a worthwhile conversion (in my opinion! .. we've discussed this before ...)

yes, you need the new motor and the sliding rail bit, it all comes as one piece (you hope!) .. electrics just plug straight in, mess around a bit getting it lined up, but it's nowhere near the pain of the cable type, and 20x easier to get right ... I would guess that Mark at cascu would be your best bet .. I think that you may need the metal bit that cups the bottom of the window as well .. the window is the same though

Got the parts from Mark at Cascu (motor, glass and rail) so that will be my job for the weekend.

Really appreciate those pics John as I wouldn't have known where to start without them.

Thanks once again :D

All done!
I now have two working electric windows.

I had to juggle the hole positions arround slightly to make it run smoothly but other than that it was quite straightforward.

I wouldn't have known where to start without John's picture though :D

Many Thanks
