I sold mine but if you have one I may be able to mend it for you. I mended mine and it is working well. Send photos if you like. they come up on ebay from time to time but I couldn't find a new one and I looked very hard.

I got a good 2nd hand one from Stephen Wade, he is on Facebook.
Also try DG Rally ( online)
Or Guy Cormack ( based in East Anglia)
Failing that try Henk Martyns in Holland.

Hello,

Just in case you haven’t seen it, there’s 1982 1500 on eBay at a breakers yard in Chorley that’s looks like it’s being broken for parts. I tried to get its windscreen but that’s damaged, I’d give them a call.

What is the matter with it, aluminium erosion under where the pipes fit or something else?

Hello David

yes seems so: the pre-formed "olive" flare was largely eaten away so I formed another from wire and 2-pack chemical metal but it is not really holding. I took the whole two part assembly off and used new gaskets but it is possible I suppose that there is a leak at the face, although I did use hylomar thinly.

These housings are going on all X19s. It might be possible to fit new inlets and outlets using aluminium pipes off similar thermostats with internal sleeves and some new steel or plastic pipes. The rest of the housings seem to be fine. The other idea I have is for the club to produce and sell new housings of aluminum or perhaps plastic.

Hello David

I contacted the seller who does not think the mounting is the same and also the spigots are in the wrong orientation, sadly.

I could go to his physical store but need an example gasket to check the mounting.

Please see your PM's however.

Cheers
