1300 block (80mm bore) was created by Martin Rutter
Does anyone have a 1300 block that has the 80mm bore size? 1st generation 1300 had 86mm bore but some of the 2nd generation 1300 engines had 80mm bore (and some had 86.4). I am only after a 80mm bore block. Condition does not matter.
Any help would be appreciated.
I want to build a 2nd race engine that has more torque so I need the smaller bore size. If I can't find a suitable block, I will just have to put a liner in a 86mm bore block but this is not ideal.

Sorry, Can't help with your 1300 block
Here is something to avoid though.
My previous race engine went bang a few years ago at about 7000rpm.
Note hole in block at no.4 and cracked sump
It Was still running on 3 after explosion!

The engine we are working on at the moment will be revving to around 10k but with a short stroke, we hope to keep all the shiny metal bits safely in the block without any escaping!

I think the engine number is on the Rear left off the engine at the top of the block. As you look at an x1/9 engine bay. Gearbox end. Its difficult when the engine is fitted.
Measure the bore if you can.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I can't find any images.

Even Fiat main dealers had difficulty in knowing which bore size a particular 1300 engine had. Apparently the dealers were provided with 2 gaskets sets if they had to do a de-coke to cover both options. Therefore, measuring the bore is the only certain way.
