ENGINE WANTED

I have been contacted by a chap in North London area who is restoring an X1/9 who is looking for a 1500 engine. The engine on the car has seized because of water ingress and he looking for a replacement engine.

The gearbox is OK, he just requires the engine unit.

I've given the chap the information, so see what happens.

I have contacted the guy to let him know I have engines/parts he can have for free.

I have a complete 1500 engine going spare still full of oil but I am a little far away but it would be cheap

Mike says his car is a V reg which I think makes it a 10 bolt engine, although of course a 14 bolt engine will do too! An engine on a pallet is only around £40-50 to ship. Please let Mike know you have an engine available Phil!

The car on Car & Classic was being advertised as spares or repair. I only forwarded the information onto Mike as it was near to where he is located. He can decide what he wants to do about it.

If there are other engines available then that would be better for what he is after.

Hi Phil and Cameron,

Mike just called me. He is taking his block to a workshop and hoping they will say it's ok to use, but if not I have said he can have my good engine that I stripped when I was investigating "stroker" conversions a while back. As I am in North London Sunday I said I will take some engine parts to him if he needs them.
