Grommets for holes in floor of front boot.

Hi,

I recently removed the rubber mat in the front boot of my X1/9 and found three holes in the metal floor. Presumably there should be three grommets there which were forgotten during manufacture !

The holes are 34mm in diameter but the nearest I have been able to buy is 32mm (Ebay) and that is a loose fit. Does anyone know of a source for these ?

Checking the rest of the car I found another grommet missing near the wiring harness where it exits the front boot to the headlights, the hole was obscured by the cover over the wiring harness. In the rear boot there are two holes at the bottom of the rear wheel arches, should they have grommets ? Or are they to allow condensation to drain away ? Aerial grommets from Halfords (HFX215) will fit the rear holes and the one near the wiring harness.

Hi Geoff,

The three holes under the front boot mat and the two holes in the bottom of the rear wheel arches use the same grommet. It isn't a blanking grommet for these holes, more like an insert which has a foam insert in it. This was for letting damp / water out and not letting crap back in again.

I would try one of the X1/9 spares suppliers such as Alternative Autos or Eurosport.

They should be able to find the other grommets you require as well.
