Floors! was created by Kenthesweep
Hello everyone, back after a few years away from Exxy's, now back with a vengence! Rebuilding a Eurosport 1500, a 1977 1300, and a 1982 bucket of rust! (The uno turbo conversion is running well, but too damn quick!)
Anyway, tried to take the seats out of the rustbucket, and pushed my feet through the floor! Can anyone help with new floorpans, or push me in the right direction? I also need the headlamp motor brackets, which have rusted off on both sides (poor car looks like she's had a stroke...)
Please give me a call on 07878 175690 or message. Many thanks

Hi Ken,
Welcome - great to hear that you're back in an X1/9, and with an Uno Turbo too ! Great ! Is that Tony's old car - there can't be too many bright orange Eurosport models out there ?!
For parts I always like to use Eurosport ( www.eurosport-uk.net/ ) - if you do a search in their shop for "cockpit" it will bring up the floor pans.
Couldn't find headlight brackets in there, but they may have them - might be worth a phone call to them. They're very helpful.
Best of luck, and keep us posted.

Yes, it was Tony's car! Had to have it, and after fixing the damage, almost wrote it off again (VERY twitchy) Now treat it with respect and may have to sell her to fund the other 3 being restored! Spoke to Claire and she looking into having floor sections produced. Thanks for the info...

hi,i looked at those floor replacement panels and i thought they looked a bit "agricultural" and amateur....so this is the way i chose to go about it,probrably not your cup of tea,but im very pleased with how they came out, plus, because of the way i redesigned it all,the car is now much much stiffer, and being all galvanised, should last far longer
i inserted 50mm box section the complete length of the inner sills,i also put two complete lengths down the centre of the car,the two centre lengths are also laddered, the centre box sections are joined to the box in the sills with more 50mm box "chassis legs",thus creating a very very strong chassis for the car,the box chassis in the centre also has the water running through it and doubles as water pipes to the rad in the front,i then basically used the box sections as mounting points for my new floors that are 1.5mm galvanised steel....the end result is a vertually flat floor that will not flex and shouldnt rust either...incidently i also replaced both the boot and bonnet floors in the same fashion
it looks lovely from underneath, and im equally happy with the result from the interior
