wheels wanted

talking of offsets on my wheels with the fifty pence wheel centres it say 25et i have seen some wheel with 35et and the supplier says they will fit the x1/9 i did think that x1/9s did have an offset of 35 anyway...any ideas? thanks pete

No worries for the help Mark, sorry to be the bearer of bad news though! yes I do have one set of CD-30's but they are on my blue 1300!

I have had the CD-30's on it for over 3 years now, and they wear 185 section tyres, but luckily I don't have much issues with rubbing, only on the edges of the front tyres when I apply full lock on adverse camber. The car is on standard suspension but being a 1300 is lower at the rear but has no problems with clearance there though...

Was the front arches where they were catching on mine. Had to remove them as large cuts were seen in the tyres and I had to keep bending the arches back. Will have to try them on my 1300. Sounds interesting although maybe you aren't thrashing it hard enough to see the issue as dramatically as I did.

Ewen - you are right, I haven't thrashed the car particularly hard... then again it could be that the lower rear of the 1300 makes the front end sit a tiny bit higher? Or even perhaps the brand of tyres I'm using (Nankangs) lots of little variables to consider....

Mark - just ran outside in the sub-zero conditions and checked and my wheels also have an offset of 7

p.s. this is turning to quite an epic thread, maybe it should be moved into Technical Discussion as its broken the record for being by far the longest thread in the 'Wanted' section... :lol:

Didnt get me my CD30s though unless Ewen hates his so much he fancys selling them

CD30's are gorgeous alloys, just waiting for the right machine to stick em on. Might try them on the 1300 this spring, we'll see

Hmm, I'm no great fan of those Speedlines. They just look a bit .. 'plain'. The Exxy is a special car and needs nice wheels, like CD-30's.

Sounds like we should start a CD-30 picture thread :idea:

Would be good to get the name of the manufacturer to see if they could produce them with our standard offset. Now that would be cool

Hey, they may not be on a car at the noo but look just the thing in the glass cabinet in middle of the lounge. Need to get an engine too in there How sad would that be? And I don't mean it bits lol

Yes Guy, still have the bodyshell but I bet you'd prefer a bright yellow Barchetta, good runner, cracking engine and I hear yellow is the colour of 2010. I'm sure it matches your eyes
