Lotus specialist with parts on The Wirral.

On Sunday at the cars and coffee meeting at Chester castle my Dad was talking to a Lotus Specialist based on the Wirral with lots of X1/9 parts in storage.

The details are:-

We have the following parts which may interest someone.
Most parts are in good condition and worked when car was broken (over 10 years ago) but I cannot confirm that they still work although everything has been in dry storage for that time.

- Rear engine cover (black)
- Rear boot lid
- RH window glass
- LH window glass
- Rear engine vent grill
- Chrome/rubber door window seals LH and RH
- Starter Motor
- Column stalks unit
- Gearbox
- Rear shocks and springs (built)
- Indicator/sidelight assemblies front (one side has very small crack in lens)
- Driveshaft
- 2 x new door handles
- LH Door rear view mirror and glass
- coolant expansion tank

Any reasonable offers considered. The parts will start going on e-bay in a couple of weeks if there is no interest.
We would also consider letting it all go as a job lot.

I can ship most parts but would prefer collection for gearbox and any glass parts (as I wouldn’t be able to guarantee their safe arrival).

What's does the panel think is the going rate for that gearbox? Mine is a bit fragile in 2nd & 3rd and I'm conscious it isn't going to get any better. That said, this box has been sat around in a shed for 10 years and was "fine when it ran last". So it may well be as bad if not worse than mine.

Worth offering him £100 for a punt?

I'd start a lot lower than that. When he spoke to me he said he just wanted to offload them to someone who wanted them.
