Hopefully your all sorted now Mark.

All other interior and parts on Ebay.

Jim and Chris Andy informed you guys never got back to him on metal tanks so have listed them on the bay.

If you still want them let him know so we can recall them.

I have found the mirror, body is in good shape, but there are some faint water stains on the mirror inside, if you know how to open them and wipe it you have a bargain....I assume you have the base part still fixed to your car..?

PM your address if you are interested. 8)

Thanks Daz. :D
Are the water stains noticeable when using the mirror? (Suspect not... & me old eyes probably wouldn't see them anyway :!: :!:  )

Have complete mirror, but anti- dazzle lever's broken !

Can anyone tell me how to open the unit ? I've looked long & hard at it & can't see how. :?

Thanks Daz (& Grimy), would be very grateful.

I've now found how to dissemble the unit ( s**t, it's already bust!), & am trying to two-pack glue the lever, but won't hold my breath as glue usually only sticks fingersssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Will pm you with address, Thanks, tho would feel happier making a contribution to you or Grimy.

You need something like a sharp knife or fine flat screwdriver to slot in between the surround & the metal case, & ease them apart ... best done gently as the plastic surround is quite soft so can get marked.

Once you've got the mirror out, & the plaster for your bleeding finger, you can ease the lugs back & seperate mirror from glass & clean it.

There's a metal plate in the casing which I had to take out to replace the anti dazzle lever ... the easy bit is sliding out the retaining pin ... reassembling seemed to turn the air blue
Finally figured that the only way was to get everything in place at the bottom (pin / lever), then work ( force) the top back in with the aid of 2 screwdrivers & plenty of expletives until the 2 lugs relocate into the top of the casing.

I never noticed before, but there are different mirror casings... the one you sent was like my old car's... slightly knobbly, like a gentle artex finish, & matt, whereas mine is smoother & silk finish.... decided I'd keep the original, hence the battle with the lever/ pin/ plate.

Once everything's back in place, clean & working, the mirror just pushes back into the case ... simple really... not !

Good luck... guess most folk just need the front out to clean inside, which is not too tricky.

Thanks again :D :D :D
