We start with a Lancia Montecarlo chassis. First thing is to cut the front and back off, to leave just the office...

Currently considering engines. I have a Fiat 2 litre 16V turbo engine, which would be close to the original. However I really like the idea of a five cylinder engine, so I'm looking at Coupe turbos.
The gearbox will be from an Audi A6, so we need to make an adapter plate.

I wouldn't even consider the 5cyl engine. The Fiat engine is the way to go.

I have also picked up a running/driving Fiat Coupe 20VT as a donor.
Rachael, check the cambelt and auxiliary belt history. Change them every 36000 miles / 3 years maximum despite what Fiat say.
It's a good idea to change the cam phase sensor at the same time as it is hidden behind the exhaust cam pulley so is otherwise inaccessible.
It is usually the auxiliary belt letting go that takes out the cambelt and it's an interference engine.
Have a look in the Fiat Coupe Club Forum "How to do" section for more info.
