For the others - the result of my June "cough-up or get-rid" dilema (where it was a *lot* of welding to get through the MoT and which would still leaving me with a car which was basically a bit knackered), was that I decided to donate it to Tiff. I decided to myself that he has the skill and motivation to save it if at all possible, and if it is really really past it to make best use of it for spares for the ones that he looks after.
Tiff's words after putting it up on his ramps "its rusted in some very strange places ... probably the worst one I have seen" at least vindicate my decision.
I am getting withdrawl symptoms, and I'm sure I'll have the pleasure of driving one again in the not too distance future.
Andy

That'll be Mr Maclean's too, winner of best modified at the National last year. All well know cars Tiff and all in your care :roll:Just to let you know, the trip to Udine was almost perfect. Car never missed a beat although on the way back the heat got a bit much and hot starting reared its ugly head. Engine cover won't lock down now so cable ties had to be used. Still to have a look at the bugger this weekend.
Just one note of warning going over the Alps. Keep and eye out for rock falls........
Ciao the noo and looking forward to the Highland meet, Ewen

David, good to hear that your car is getting a wee holiday up in Kirkaldy, will be good to see it thrashing around the twisty lanes on the Highland weekend.
Tiff's the main man as you know and we are lucky to have such a treasure up here in Scotland. Just don't let him know I called him treasure cos he might take it the wrong way

Hmmmm isnt it about time us Southerners put together an attractive financial package to tempt Tiff to up sticks and re-locate to the South to service our X1/9s? after all theres a huge untapped market down here as we don't suffer as badly from the dreaded tinworm...
(dons tin hat and dodges flak from all the mad Jocks here...

For what it's worth, a decent 1300 in any original colour is something to treasure, although i've got a soft spot for that light metallic blue.
Cheers,
Nige
