Plans are in progress for the National... we discussed it at Sunday's committee meeting. Keep and eye out for info as the plans get firmed up.

Maybe the committee should reconsider before making a final decision on this.

Rob,
What do u think about a national thread and a poll on location.
Secondly the committee meetings have no secrets. In fact once the minutes are available I think they should / will be published in the members section of the website. Then all of the members will see what has been discussed.

This is exactly why after years of membership I finally decided not to renew last year..I won't go into detail but what happened to me (and another member) was beyond belief!
Basically it's a case of 'if you ain't in the clique, you ain't coming in!'
Good luck!

I think that's a very harsh response. The Committee is certainly not a clique and since the club has changed the committee members we have all worked hard to turn the club around for the better.
There is no secrecy and I for one would not be on the committee if that was the case. Anything we do is open and transparent and if anyone wants to know anything then they can phone me. We had the meeting last Sunday via Skype and are awaiting the minutes to become available. Please remember that we do this for fun and in our spare time whilst doing all the other things we have to do like work, look after our families etc.
I don't know what happened to you and your friend in the past but if it helps to mend bridges then please call me and we can have a chat. My mission along with the rest of the committee is to have a good year for the club this year and to put all of the bad things that have previously happened behind us. It's all about the car and the members and we want to do everything we can to deliver on that. So if you are unhappy about anything I am only a phone call away.
Please call me and lets have a chat as fellow X1/9 owners and let me understand how I can help and hopefully persuade you back into the club.
Regards,
Terry.

Luciano mate. To be honest I think Rob, Terry, and the rest of the new crew are doing a good job, and whatever happened in the past will not happen again, I don't think.
My only grump is the lack of communication with the members.. But lets give them a chance
All the best Charlie

Thanks for the reply... Please don't take this the wrong way it is a genuine question about communication in the club.
What areas do you feel as a committee we are lacking in the communication department? If we have some idea of what additional information the members want and when then we can do our best to oblige.
It might well be that I set up a separate thread or an area off the forum to put club comms in so that it doesn't get lost in the general run of threads on the board.
Regards,
Terry.

However given that it’s been in the "midlands" for some few years now, I suspect we could all do with a change of scene. Let’s just leave it to the committee to come up with an idea and someone to sort it and see before we start saying we won’t go cause its to far south! (or north! Or East! Or West!)
