As Pete Thorpe has let the cat out of the bag, I feel it appropriate for a cards on the table moment.
For many months now members have been contacting me asking me if I would seriously consider taking over the Chairman's role in the club. I have been fighting these requests off in the most hoping that the members would settle down and be satisfied with things as they are. However I have reconsidered following being further pressed on the issue in the last few weeks and at the National Event & Reservoir Dogs meet.
I personally have no issues at all with any of the current Committee members and very much like each and everyone involved. I understand that we all have busy lives and children and lots of other priorities that are more important than a car club.
I wish to carry on working with each and everyone of you and bring my Change Management experience to the table to help us understand what our members want from the club going forwards ensuring that we all agree and implement any changes together as a Team. I am not a fan of Committee management as you know mainly because no one likes to make decisions & its proven in business not to work. However I understand that we have to work within the Constitution of the club.
My work situation has now settled following the delivery of a couple of change management projects for my employer and can now commit my time and energy to the club.
In terms of my relevant experience and qualifications I can confirm that I have a Masters Degree & Business Degree in Manufacturing & Business. I have held Business Manager Roles and Currently am responsible for 200 people and a manufacturing process that turns over circa £50 Million P A. for McVities. I have extensive people exposure and P&L EBITDA responsibility.
My Professional Profile is on Linkedin:

My only motive is for my Love of the x1/9 and this club.
Chris I truly wish to work with you, your skills and experience are invaluable.
In summary I therefore lodge my interest in the Position of Chairman.
If Chris or anyone else also wishes to stand then I ask that a Postal Vote be Sanctioned as outlined in the Club Constitution.
If any of you wish to have a chat with me please give me a call or send me a text and I will gladly phone you back.
Many Thanks
Les

We have a policy now that if posts or comments could be considered offensive, slanderous, bullying or too personal etc etc they are cut out and put into a moderators section for the committee to look at and discuss.
Previously they could just be deleted this has been stopped.
If the post is deemed fine it is replaced, you have to remember that a post put in this forum may not be taken in maybe the way it was meant and words can easily be interpreted wrong.
I didn't remove your post but if I had read it I would have, its unfair to maybe have personal vendettas in open forums regardless of your feelings thoughts or past experience.
This is not black ops or big brother but the right thing to do, there is know way Im going to let happen or be a part of a repeat of the previous sham that ended in members being banned and bad feeling across many forums.
Now if you want a witch hunt and if Bob Monkhouse was still alive I'm your man with his smarmy smiles to camera and that anoying condesending snigger!
Or big Brother
Eamonn Holmes I could go on...........................

yes they were removed by Les because they upset chris...bless
Let's get the facts straight shall we ? Les removed your post of his own free will. I agree with the decision as I found it offensive, but you're barking up the wrong tree here.
lets see how you enjoy having no power over the facebook group which i shall be closing today
