Oh dear, more vanishing threads, with no explanation forthcoming. This club has become a (very sensitive it seems) clique. I'm not condoning the trolling that certain members from north of the border like to indulge in, but I'm disappointed at the anonymous way that trolling is treated, especially when others are free to cuss and blind (although often in an entertaining manner!) with impunity.
I think I'll stick with XWeb.

Is this club happy to lose someone with Rachael's knowledge from this forum?
It is people such as her that are willing to share such knowledge, that makes the £25 subscription such a bargain!

I'd be interested to know what lead to your comment Rachael - was there a specific thread that has been removed recently ? I agree that it's completely unacceptable to simply delete threads without comment and I don't want to be part of a forum / club that censors people in that way.
This needs to be investigated and some firm rules put in place.

Well said X1/nige
Chris, I think it was one to do with membership fee in the title. Seems to have gone AWOL.

Yep Dave, you're right.
So, who's going to own up to this then ?

Probably like many of the readers of this forum ... I'm a little perplexed by all this.
I read both threads that have been pulled, and whilst could be viewed as being a little contentious, I didn't think they were derogatory towards any individual (though I accept people have different perspectives).
Fundamentally the committee, or whoever decided to pull the threads, should have the conviction to robustly defend their position or at least acknowledge that things could be better. Locking a thread is effective to stop things getting out of hand. By simply removing threads, it just raises doubts and uncertainty. I speak from experience - I am a (voluntary) vice chair of a sports governing body - and have had people question our credibility in a *public* forum. You have to stand up to it.
Communication (of any form) is vital in this sort of organisation ....

What the Hell?
I’m totally disgusted with this situation who did this and why?
I thought that although at some points it got a bit personal at the end the thread came out positive, it even had me offering some of my very valuable time to the club.
I want an official comment from who ever did this and reasons?
even better replace it!

I believe that once a post is deleted it's then gone forever. This is why locking a thread is preferable, unless the language / content warrants a full deletion.

Second that Mark, explanation please.
It is out of order for several threads to be deleted just because a certain member contributed.
I have been a member of the UKOC for just over a year now and have visited this forum almost every day, I am also a member of XWeb and several other auto and motorsport related forums. All of these internet communities have their share of problems and 99% of time, the moderators do a fantastic job. However on this occasion there is obviously some kind of childish bias which needs to be levelled asap. .
This will be my third post along similar lines and for my £25 I do not expect for it to disappear. Right now I am looking for reasons to renew my already overdue membership and not just move entirely to XWeb, I'm struggling.
So Jacqui, for the third time.... Where did you get your seats from?
Regards,
Iain

All committee members automatically have moderator rights on this forum - whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is up for debate.1) How many people have the authority to remove postings?
Absolutely - this is what happened to your thread. Any moderator can delete / edit / move threads without discussion with the rest of the committee. This is probably wrong IMO.2) Can someone just take the huff without discussing it with a commitee member and hit the delete button?
As far as I know there ARE no rules relating to operation of the forum. Maybe we (the moderators) need some strict guidelines ?3) If this is the case, should the rules of the club not be changed?
