THE 2023 NATIONAL
“BUZZING OFF TO ST BEES”
This year’s National will see us in the North Lakes, Cumbria. Not only is the scenery spectacular, taking in the Heritage Coast, an SSSI, an RSPB bird reserve on the Headland, and a lighthouse, but also the start of the Wainwright Coast to Coast Walk (in case anyone forgets to bring the car!)
And some of the nicest drives in the Country.
The weekend of 8-10 September will have all the usual National thrills and spills, great drives, good company and a chance to show and tell.
Our HQ for the weekend will be Seacote Holiday Park, located right on the beach and 2 minutes walk from the Seacote Hotel and Headlands Restaurant.
Accommodation rates are as follows:
Static caravans (min 3 nights): 2 bedroom £306, 3 bedroom £375
Pitches: Tent (no elec) £18 per night, motorhome (incl. elec.) £23 per night. The Park can be contacted on 01946 822 777 or online at www.seacote.com
Static caravans book up quickly so it’s recommended to book by the end of June, if possible, and don’t forget to mention you’re with the Club.
The outline for the weekend will be as follows:
Friday: arrive on site, settle in, meet old friends etc
Saturday: a day's driving along some of the best roads in the UK, taking in the sights of the North Lakes.
Saturday night: meal at the Headlands Restaurant, 2 minutes walk from the Holiday Park.
Sunday: scenic drive to the Lakeland Motor Museum where we are booked in for the day.
The Museum houses a fascinating collection of over 30,000 exhibits that trace the development of road transport throughout the twentieth century - cycles, motorbikes, motor cars and automobilia, along with a riverside cafe. The Museum is a short walk from the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway if you're looking for a steam engine fix.
